Which other sites to join?

Thanks for letting me into your community. Suckers! I mean, I hope I have much to contribute.

Anyway, I am geeking out about fanfic and in true ADDer style I am jumping into the pool without regard for whether it is full or not. I have a billion ideas and am actually putting some of them into readable form.

So here's the question:

I believe in cross posting of fics. I have accounts at fanfiction.net and Sink Into Your Eyes. Where else should I set up an account to post my stuff? Most of my stuff will be canon couples when relationships are involved. I don't really like anti-Weasley or anti-Ginny stuff and have no plans to write that (except as a parody of the bashing genre). I have no plans to write slash or porn so no sites that center on that.

I'm sure I'll have a billion other questions and I hope that I did this the right way.

Besides SIYE, there's ginnypotter.com, simplyundeniable.com and phoenixsong.net - all canon-pairings-centric.

There are also other general archives, like unknowableroom.org, mugglenet fan ficion or HarryPotterFanfiction.com - here's a list with some more.

As for general archives, you can post them at Archive of Our Own (aka AO3). The people who were banned from FFN moved there as it's the beta stages so you might have to get used to the things there.

I was going to suggest AdultFanfiction.net but that site leans more to the NC-17 rated stories and thus outside of your horizons. Unless you decide to jump on the band wagon.

There's also different versions of LJ if you might be interested in that. Dreamwidth and InsaneJournal are taking up the migrating users of LJ that abandon the site due to complaints and such.

there's also fictionalley org for the hp fandom. i'm not sure if fictionalley is still taking submissions. that's a site that's broken down into different parts so it may be confusing. ao3 is slowly growing. i'm not really a fan of the design of adultfanfiction net and the majority of stories there are x-rated or higher.

oh, i forgot, there's also mediaminer org. it's another multifandom archive.

Thanks, y'all! I only got into HP last year. I had read the first four back when they had come out, but they never clicked for me. As a result, I missed out on a lot of stuff in the fandom. (Not to worry, my fanboy side was well-occupied with other geeky pursuits.)

Now, I'm not so egotistical as to think that my stories are going to change the world, but the internet gives amateur writers such great opportunities that didn't exist back in the day. It would be a shame to not take advantage of those opportunities. It sure beats what the early Star Trek fanfic writers had to go through back in the 60s and 70s. Mimeograph machines and mailing lists... *shudder*
